Project Description:
David acted as Cost Consultant on the £8.2 million project to extend and refurbish the existing Plymouth Argyle Football Club Grandstand from inception in 2017 to completion in 2020. The development includes the provision of a new terracing and seating (5,000 seats), changing rooms, offices, improved players facilities, Conference and Hospitality facilities.
Pre-contract, David worked closely with the client and design team to value the engineer the space to deliver maximum commercial value for the client and minimise wastage to achieve the stringent budget.
The construction phase was undertaken in a fifteen month period on site, with the works being phased so that the new retail store and changing rooms are completed ahead of the refurbishment of the existing building to ensure key operations around the stadium could fully function.
The phasing of the works was planned to minimise disruption to match days and ensure disruptions are limited to periods outside of the playing season.
