Lionstead is a chartered construction consultancy founded in 2020 by David Gribble, providing expert project control services tailored to each client’s needs. Whether delivering comprehensive project management from inception to completion or offering a bespoke service, we ensure a strategic and flexible approach to every project.

MEET THE TEAM

David founded Lionstead in 2020 after gaining extensive experience with the international firm Davis Langdon, where he obtained his RICS Chartership as a graduate. He later became a partner at a regional practice before establishing Lionstead with a vision to provide clients with high-quality Cost and Project Management services tailored to each bespoke project.

With a wealth of experience leading teams and managing projects with multiple stakeholders, David has successfully delivered projects across a range of built environment sectors. His recent successes include projects in the hotel, heritage, independent education, stadium, high-end residential and commercial sectors.

Founder & Director

Simon joined Lionstead at the beginning of 2025 and brings a wealth of experience having worked as a director and at senior levels in quantity surveying consultancies across London and the South. He became a chartered member of the RICS when he was 31. He has worked on some of the nation’s iconic heritage buildings, including the Palace of Westminster. His experience covers residential, commercial, education and defence sectors. In recent years, he has worked with a range of clients including high quality projects for high-net-worth individuals where he takes pride in traditional professional values and attention to detail. Simon endeavours to support innovation and excellence within the practice.

Senior Quantity Surveyor

Michael joined Lionstead in June 2022 as a Graduate Project Surveyor. He completed his RICS accredited degree for Quantity Surveying in May 2021 at the University of Portsmouth. Since joining, he has worked on many projects covering a broad range of sectors including Residential, Commercial and Education. He brings a fresh and open mindset to all projects, continually gaining valuable experience by the day and is excited for what the future holds. Michael is currently working towards his RICS chartership.

With over 45 years of experience in the industry, Steve brings an abundance of knowledge in managing multi-stakeholder project engagements, particularly within the scheduled monument and heritage sector. Having worked across the spectrum as a Client/Employer, Consultant, and Contractor, he has a deep understanding of the varying perspectives that shape successful project delivery.

​Steve’s expertise extends to risk management and strategic project oversight, ensuring that potential challenges are mitigated while maximising opportunities for positive outcomes. His ability to navigate complex projects with a balanced, informed approach makes him a valuable asset in achieving project success.

Brian has over 40 years of experience in the industry and has worked closely with David for the past several years. He specialises in producing Bills of Quantities and quantified schedules of work, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in project cost management and post contract control.
