Project Description:
Lionstead was appointed by The Newt in Somerset in 2019 to deliver the Avalon Phase 3 Butchery Project. Situated within the Avalon Farm food production and processing facility, part of The Newt Hotel estate in Castle Cary, the project comprised the construction of a new butchery, including dedicated guest areas for visitors. The scope also encompassed external works and drainage, ensuring a seamless integration with the estate’s wider infrastructure.

Role:
Lionstead provided both pre-contract services (Including preparation of the Bills of Quantities) & post-contract quantity surveying services such as managing costs, issuing monthly cost reports, and agreeing the final account. Lionstead was also responsible for managing a change control procedure, ensuring every variation was documented and approved.
